Thrilled to Begin My Journey at Cornell University’s Master’s Program in Archaeology

Skyler at Cornell for her Masters Degree in Archeology

Published by Skyler Jackim I’m an undergraduate at The Ohio State University studying anthropology and history. Ever since I was 6 years old my goal has been to work as a curator at a world-class museum.

I’m beyond excited to announce that I’ve been accepted into Cornell University’s Master’s program in Archaeology! This is a dream come true and marks the beginning of an incredible journey I’ve been working toward for years. As someone who’s always been fascinated by ancient civilizations, their cultures, and the mysteries they left behind, the opportunity to study at such a prestigious institution feels surreal.

Cornell’s archaeology program is known for its interdisciplinary approach, which is perfect for someone like me, who loves to explore not just the artifacts themselves but also the stories they tell about human history and social dynamics. I’m particularly excited to work with their world-class faculty and gain hands-on experience through their fieldwork opportunities. The chance to dig deep—literally and figuratively—into the past and uncover new insights is something I’ve always dreamed about.

I can’t wait to dive into research, make connections with other passionate students, and learn from some of the best minds in the field. This is just the beginning, and I know there’s so much ahead to explore and discover. Here’s to a thrilling journey at Cornell!
