Archeology and Anthropology Field Schools

Archeology Field Schools, usually held during the summer months, offer a great opportunity for anthropology majors to acquire practical experience with anthropological research methods through hands-on fieldwork.

Most field schools focus on one of the main subdisciplines of Anthropology: Cultural, Archaeology, or Physical/Biological. There are several dozen field schools programs, located in the U.S. and all around the world each year. If a field school experience interests you, see what programs are offered through your school or ask your academic advisor for suggestions.

Field schools can be expensive but some offer scholarships and other sources of financial aid. Many colleges provide financial support for students who want to enroll in archaeological field schools in the U.S. and overseas. Check with your advisor about what financial support is available for you.
