Abel Beth Maacah, Israel. Summer 2022.  Excavated a domestic structure and associated burials from the Late Bronze Age to the Early Bronze Age. 

Blackfriary Field School, Trim, Ireland.  Summer 2019. Assisted in excavating a medieval monastery. Was the primary assistant on the excavation of burials. 

Research Experience 

Archival Research Assistant on Cornell Skeletal Audit- August 2021-May 2022

As part of the Cornell Skeletal Audit, researched the provenance of the remains housed within the Archaeology department. This consisted primarily of researching a former professor’s letters, journals, and other correspondence to trace provenance. Kept detailed notes on correspondence for future researchers and prepared a report which was used to determine if repatriation was appropriate.

Doctoral Research Assistant on Transition Analysis on Human Remains-  Sep 2017 –May 2020

This research involved observing the macroscopic degenerative changes of 150 skeletons to estimate their ages and compare them to earlier predictions made in the mid-1980s. Created a database describing each of their pathologies, ages at death, and sexes.

Internships

Curatorial Intern at the National Museum of the American Sailor- Summer 2018

Managed three projects relating to the Naval base and the history of the Navy in the Great Lakes region, one from conception to installation, while writing the display panels and finding the images and objects for the other two.

Collections Intern at the Ansel B. Cook House Museum- Summer 2018

Created a database by digitizing old photographs and records and researching their provenance. 

Presentations & Conferences

Bearing the Burden: Trauma During Agricultural Intensification in Pre-Contact Ohio- a presentation at the American Association of Physical Anthropologists’ undergraduate  Symposium regarding the paleo-pathology of 16th Century Northern Ohio Indigenous. Fall 2018

Scholarships, Fellowships, and Awards-

National Buckeye Merit Award- A merit-based scholarship for non-Ohio residents who rank at the top of their high school graduating class.

Teaching Experience

Expand Your Horizons- April 2022

Taught a one-day high school-level seminar covering the basics of anthropology and archeology. Developed the syllabus and taught both the zooarchaeology and forensic anthropology sections.

Other Work Experience

Head Receptionist- Liberty Pet Hospital- Jan 2024- present

Serve as the initial point of contact for a large veterinary practice with four doctors and as surgery intake and outtake coordinator. Within four months, given the responsibility of training new hires.
